BIRDS and BEES and other insects...
I began sculpting insects on pottery when my children became interested in them. My son and I would search for earthworms in the soil, or observe bees on flowers, and one of my daughter's first words was beetle (pronounced "ba-da")...so naturally their dishes needed to be adorned with insects.
I am currently offering a bee, mantis, earthworm, beetle, and cockroach on cups. Occasionally I will make a hummingbird or two.
Each cup is wheel thrown and each insect/bird attached and carved, so each is slightly different.
